Ipod, plugged into little (2"x2"x2") speaker box (99p of ebay) powered by 2 AAA batteries. It's loud enough and the batteries last for months..
Works for me !

Our TV plays CDs as well as DVDs or like Ken, we listen to the radio via the TV too. Our cab radio also plays our iPod should we want to listen to it.

Personally I prefer peace and quiet to read. Very Happy
