Thetford Fridge

Do things ever stop going wrong !!!!
 Yesterday Rina went to stock the M/H fridge and freezer ready to go away on Friday, the fridge had been left on since we returned from Ambleside with some bits in it , on opening the freezer the contents were defrosted , I was called to investigate , the panel was showing all the right info for it to be on 240v ,no error messages , so I changed it to gas and left on full  ,with fridge thermometer in side ,3 hours later  temp had not gone down at all 
I googled the problem as thetford are closed on Sundays , my results suggested I should disconnect the  Thermistor  inside the fridge compartment , I did this last night and this morning it had gone down to normal operating temp , Spoke to Thetford today and they confirm this was the problem , so ordered a new Thermistor , should be with us before we set off

Well that good news didnt last long, received the new Thermistor yesterday  and fitted it to fridge , freezer was at -14  , opened the fridge this morning and it is + 10 , so thermistor did not sort the problem , spoke to Thetford again and they cant explain, suggest for time being to get away next week to remove thermistor and then book it in  to a Thetford  service centre  

Have you searched the problem on the interweb, google search etc...

Doing that but not getting far Mark, at he moment I am trying it on gas to see if that makes any difference

Try this Baz,..Attach an ohmmeter to the thermistor wires. You can pick up inexpensive ohmmeters at most hardware stores. Either of the ohmmeter's two connections can be attached to either of the thermistor's two connections.6Ohmmeters measure resistance; multi-meters may measure voltage, resistance and current. Use the portion of the dial marked for resistance (it will most likely have an omega symbol to denote ohms). Turn the dial until it shows the scale that gives the largest number of significant digits.7Check the ohmmeter screen for measured resistance. Compare to the given range for that particular model of fridge.8If the thermistor measures in the specified range, it is not faulty and the problem lies elsewhere. If it does not, it is time to replace the thermistor.

Its a good place to start.

Is that the old  Thermistor I removed or are you suggesting the new one I have just fitted could be faulty
In your last post there are numbers mixed in with the text are they supposed to be there?

What number Thetford fridge have you got Baza.?

Ours was the N180 and we tried 3 Thermistors before replacing it last year with a Dometic.  Our one was repaired under warranty but it still caused us problems so it was either changing the fridge/freezer or another van.

Ours is the N150, it's still got warranty but I was trying the cheap option rather than an86 mile round trip to dealer plus with things like fridges it sometimes takes more than a day to sort so two 80 mile round trips

I have tested both Mark and got a very similar reading , I am now trying to ascertain what it should be for my particular fridge
