MOT
I thought that diesels had to have a cat for the MOT, I have just read that it only applies to vehicles 2008 and onwards. Does anyone have any info on this please?

Re: MOT
Debbie, ours is a 2003 and we have NO CAT, hence only got the Yellow Umweltplakette for Germany, they want £200 to fit one to Buffy, there is nowhere in Germany that i want to visit in our m/h for £2000.

Re: MOT
Hi Bob, a previous owner had a new cat fitted, but of dubious origin, so every so often it vibrates against the chassis! Ebay is full of de-cat pipes at a very reasonable cost, and the other thing I read on the T4 forum is, that a slight mpg advantage is to be gained without the cat.

Hi Debbie, when we went to Potsdam and Berlin I called in a merc garage to see if I could get a UmweltPlakette for Buffy, after looking at the V5 they said because I had no Cat they could only issue a Yellow one but if I fitted a new Cat @ £2000 they would issue a green all area's Plakette.
Yes I know we where at at Mercedes Agent but I thought it would be too much wherever we got one for the amount of times we would need it, and Potsdam and Berlin are so easy to get around on the Train/Bus it was not worth the expense.
