Had a status on my roof and some time ago noticed some water dripping into wardrobe below - so I removed and resealed the unit
However still had some water coming in - so as the weather was ok have removed it again and found that the actual aerial had water inside which was running down the lead .
Have checked for cracks etc but found nothing - so removed it for the time being and plated over hole
Didn't know if anyone else had experienced similar

It is a normal characteristic of cold aluminium poles. The heat from your van condenses inside it as it rises. The longer pole version is a bigger problem.
Also when fitting Status aerials no sealer should be used other than the foam gasket on the mating surfaces.
The condensation is much worse if the aerial is fully deployed into the cold air and usually the first time people notice is when they pull it back down as the jolt releases a lot of water LOL

Not got one of the Status ones on the new van but one of these new fangled stick things but the few times we have used it it worked well, don't know what it would be like in a poor reception area but no worries as I am having my dome off Buffy put on Buckie.

what if water still drips in even when it's not used??,I fitted one of these myself a year or so ago so it's been through all seasons & have had no signs of condensation at all!!

If it is coming down the coax (or out of the hole the coax leaves the bottom of the pole) it is condensation, if it is coming from anywhere else it is a leak.
If you don't have condensation then it is simply not warm enough around the pole or the pole is not cold enough. Simple science.

Definitely a leak Andy - water was coming out the actual aerial like a tap when I tilted it !

Best to replace it then Peter with the later model while you're at it.

Don't want to sound obvious but the plastic aerial body may have water in it ? subsequently finding its way down the pole into the wardrobe, have you checked it for any cracks or dodgy seals which may be able to be resealed.
Also apparently there is a grub screw above the roof part of the aerial which might be letting water in.
Good luck Pete!!
