Is this what I want for my 4.5 metre omnistor? or is there a better solution matey??

Yes I have one of those and they work great, I did buy two ratchet straps that slide into the grove in the front of the awning which I also use, I will look for them and post you the link.

Techno, I cannot see the connector, but thinking how awnings rattle and shake when out in high winds, would an S hook be secure enough?

Just a thought.

I generally just wind the awning back in when the wind gets up these days...I've got 2 sets of storm straps which I hardly use.
