X250...check your Exhaust hangers

Post by Rocles on Sat 5 Sep 2015 - 8:25

Just a warning...my exhaust rubber hangers have once again failed on my X250-based van. These things are rubber, which splits over time (these lasted 3 years). I was very lucky it had failed whilst parked in Storage ! There are 6 of them in total, but the main ones to fail are the two that hold the actual exhaust where it exits the vehicle, under the drivers seat. You can either buy genuine Fiat ones at around a fiver each (these have an added metal safety strap, that catches the exhaust when, not if, the rubber fails) , or strengthened rubber only replacements for around a pound each from Partco etc.
