Umwelt zone App.

There is now an Umweltzone App available for your ipod/ipad. very useful if you only have a RED or YELLOW Plakette but if yours is GREEN you do not really need it as your free to transit all area's

For 69p.. its worth having if you are unsure.

Your welcome Sonja, having a yellow Plakette restricts your entry into the centre of all the Umwelt area's so the app will be handy, I put my details into the LEZ form and Boris wrote back and told me if I came within 20 miles of London he would put the SAS onto me and blow me up so no chance of me getting any colour Plakette and we will have to bus it into town.

Interesting question if you had your UK registered vehicle, assuming it didn't already comply with the London LEZ and the German Green Badge Level, converted in Germany to there Green Level which would probably involve having a filter etc. fitted but also probably a lot cheaper than having it converted in the UK to meet the LEZ requirements, would it be acceptable to the LEZ.

Or perhaps looking at in another way would/does a German registered motorhome of the same make year and weight that wouldn't be allowed in the LEZ if it was a UK registered vehicle, be allowed free of charge into the LEZ if it has already been converted in Germany to there Green Badge level

Interesting dilemma that, but I require a filter fitted @ £2500 to comply with the LEZ. I do not need to spend that much just to enter the London area LEZ.

As for a German m/h complying with the Cat5 Plakette (green) that would not be allowed into the LEZ zone as it would not be on the database ANPR so would not comply.

Now I have never enquired about bringing my m/h up to the German standard for their emissions control but I shall next time I am in Germany as see what it costs (it being a German made m/h), still think it will be prohibitive cost wise and if I still cannot enter the UK zone there is actually no point

Hi I think continental vehicles are or have to be registered on the UK database in a similar way to ours being registered on theirs does anyone know a german motorhomer I may try asking the question on one of there motorhome forums how they deal with the London LEZ when visiting the UK
