Southport Airshow 14th & 15th Sept

We have managed to get space for 10 vans at the pleasureland car park for the airshow weekend
You will need to park close together as they need all the space possible as it is being used as the main car park for the airshow, once the cars have gone, you can then move to allow more space between the vans but you must move it back before the cars start to arrive the morning after.
price is £10 per night plus £1 per person rally fee
Ticket prices are £7 if bought in advance or £9 on the gate

Tickets don't seem to be on sale yet? Can we get bulk purchase when they are?

we never get tickets.we watch from outside the vans,but i can recall someone buying tickets,and that gives you entry to the different stalls etc on the promenade.

The Southport Air Show is two days of packed entertainment for the entire family.

Each year the flying programme showcases fast jets, military and historical aircraft, daring aerobatics much more.

This years flying programme has been confirmed:

Red Arrows (Sat only) - BBMF (Lancaster, Hurricane, Spitfire) - Typhoon - Tutor - Tucano - Black Cats - Merlin - Sea King - Lynx AH7 - Spitfire - RV8tors - The Blades - The Vulcan (Sun only) - Swordfish - RNHF - Strikemaster - Sabre - Autogyro - Sbach 300

In between displays you can attempt an assault course, a climbing wall or experience the next best thing to flying a fast jet in one of the many flight simulators in the Air Show Village. We have many military vehicles and aircraft for you to have a look at, the Northern Brickworks with their brilliant lego displays, mini tanks and much more.

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY BUSY EVENT AND NORMAL TRAVELLING TIMES WILL NOT SUFFICE, WE ADVISE YOU TO ARRIVE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.

The Air Show village attractions on site will be open from 9:00 plus you can watch light aircraft and microlights landing on the beach right before your eyes from 10.30. Once you are onsite and have your wristband you can leave and have a wander around Southport, with a nearby cinema, bowling and kids soft play there is plenty to keep you entertained. There is something for the entire family and tickets are only £7 if booked in advance with children under 5 FREE!

Anyone going to this meet, if you are going home on Sunday be prepared for long delays, or leave it till late, the roads are very bad after the airshow, once took me about 3 hour to get home, and 2 hour of that was getting out of Southport  
I'm not leaving till Monday morning

Not a good day on Saturday for photographers, red arrows on first and they make a mess of the sky, takes an hour for the colours to clear  
Good to see the BBMF on both days, hawker hunter and typhoon always put on a good display, never seen the vulcan at an airshow so looking forward to that, hope the weather holds for next weekend

Ok I have booked 5 down to come.
The fee is £7 for Thursday night then its £10 Friday and Saturday but if they want to watch the show Sunday will have to pay £10 for day parking.
So if someone came Friday it would be £30 then they could leave either later Sunday night or Monday Morning.
As you will appreciate the car park will be full. If last year is anything to go by,we were almost stacking cars last year.
I have to confirm with Norman later today or tomorrow about how he wants me to park campers up.

So sorry folks, have to cancel at short notice...unfortunately, we heard today that Sue is on 24 hour call-out for work this coming weekend...this means we need to be available in Lytham at 5 mins notice, so sad to say we will have to cancel. So sorry for the short notice, but its a totally unpredictable situation.

Admitted Adele into hospital today so looks like we will have to miss this one now

Had a great few days at Southport for the air show. Saturday we had great weather and a fantastic air show, we even were able to camp in the new arena camping area. We were on a grass bank and had a great view of the show. Pity Sundays events had to be cancelled for the weather but at least we had a good show Saturday. I was told on arrival that only ourselves and one other member could make it to the show and never did meet the others, but hope they had as good a time as we did.
