My TT died today (for a few hours)

After doing an update on my TT 950 today it went and died on me, or to be more accurate it still worked connected to PC but would start up when off the PC. I lost all my hundreds of favourites and thousands of poi's and had to call TT for help.

It happened because while updating my PC lost the connection for a couple of seconds so a vital file was missing, so after a long session with Chantalle we managed to get it back to it's original from new state but like I said everything I had put in had gone.

Well I have spent hours putting most of it back and now it is close to the way I had it before the crash, I have left some info off for countries I will not be going too in the near future but the main poi's and favourites are all re-installed so I am pleased.

It only took a couple of seconds to cause the problem so next update I will be keeping a check on the connection and I can cancel the update before there is a problem.

Back it up now in case it happens again

I was thinking of it Pete, little bits of paper with a route with all the town names on, those where the days and too think I spent over 30yrs. driving all over Europe without a TT device telling me were to go, how things have changed.

Thank you Frank for your kind offer of help, you are always at the forefront of my mind when things mechanical go wrong and Ken a backup wouldn't have helped as the missing file corrupted the TT and it had to be completely reformatted.
