Probably the question should be what effects will the Italian Election results have any effect on the € vs £,

The relevance of posting was that if anyone was thinking of buying Euro's for a trip latter this year (as I know there are many) they may wish to wait a little longer before buying as what is happening in Italy could have an effect on the € vs £ exchange rate,

But obviously if people are not interested then that's fine, just felt it may help with making a decision on when to purchase their Euro's

Well I waited hoping it would improve as it was 1.22 4 weeks ago. Now 1.1330 has been the best this week. If you knew what the markets might do we could all retire. I would say buy them when you need them

You are right its a gamble, but none the less if you have time its worth watching the world events that may have an impact on the currency you intend to buy, the money markets are getting neverous over the Italian situation and it could effect the value of the €, in what way I don't know but its worth watching if you haven't made up you mind about when and if to buy €'s

If we were talking thousands of euros it might be worth consideration but even 1.22 down to 1.12 only means a few eoros difference.

I was watching a Heki 3 on german ebay. it was £527 with the exchange rate then and its 557 now so £30 on over 500. I'm only going to want a couple of hundred so the difference is nothing to worry about.

Hi, We never buy Euro's we always used to use the Nationwide Debit Card when it was free and for the last couple of years we have been using the Clarity Credit Card as the interest is so low that is not worth worrying about approx 1%/month for cash withdrawals, and the exchange rates we have been getting have been the same as the money market rates similar to those shown on the link I gave above.

We do still use the Nationwide credit card for all purchases while abroad
