Template for top fixing points knocked up from aluminium angle [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Marked a pencil line across from side to side in line with the bottom of the curved panel. Measured the centre and used the template to mark the holes for drilling. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Hung the rack on the top hangers and then centred the bottom brackets to mark for drilling. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Top tip! To make sure the drilled holes are at 90 degrees to the wall use a block of wood with a 6mm hole made using a pillar drill. Once you've drilled into the skin of the van STOP and put your drill bit through the wood into the hole and hold the wood tight to the van then proceed to drill right through. All 8 of my fixings aligned perfectly with the internal plates.

No Andy, straight in and out I only have to remove the step and got all the space I need, and when we are parked up the step is outside the Hab door.

In my opinion you can't beat a scooter rack which pulls out from the chassis & I've converted mine for bikes or scooter + its only 18" off the ground [img][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img]

We had a slide in/out bike rack made for our Augusta and it was a dream too use and when not in use we removed it so no extra length.
