4. Bournemouth meet - 26th Aug to 1st Sept 2014

6 nights, arrive Tue 26th Aug, leave site Mon 1st Sept
Located on a bus route for easy access to Bournemouth.
From the 28th to the 31st of Aug, the Bournemouth Air Festival is on, this is a free event held on the sea front, we will be parked about 3 or 4 mile away, we will look at getting a mini bus into Bournemouth one day to the Airshow, (depends on numbers and price)
Why not tie this in with the Burford school meet which can be found [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

£7 per unit per night, plus the usual £1 per person rally fee

Your marshall for this meet will be - The Burchies

Site entrance aproach has a gravel track of about 200 yards from roundabout after castlepoint shopping centre CAUTION!! drive slowly as full of potholes entrance on the right.

At least it's gravel we will be trying to get off a very muddy festival field hopefully under our own steam. Planning to arrive just after 12.

Moved off grass yesterday before it got too bad but very wet start here in Weymouth

Make sure you come in from the A3060 via the shopping centre, DO NOT approach from Throop village

Arrived ok and put up social tent - just a short shower but warm with it

not sure if I'm going to get chance to meet you all this week as really snowed under at work. At least my travel pot is increasing ready for my 5 month winter tour of Spain and Portugal. Booked to sail to Santander on the 7th October.

My mouth is watering at the thought of Mark and Pete's famous Paella.

It was lovely and most of us went back for seconds.

I'm really sorry but we can't get down to join you for this meet. Disappointed.  Enjoy the air show all of you.

Enjoyed our trip to Bournemouth, thanks to Mark and Julie for the marshalling/organising etc
We had a good trip home, no hold ups at all on our side of the road, lot of people heading into Bournemouth though when we were leaving, and the M6 southbound today was a nightmare, glad we weren't heading south

Arrived home had a great weekend , Thanks to Mark and Julie for organizing ( and the cake) Great Paella cooked by Pete and Mark, great company Thankyou all

Just arrived home fairly good journey. 

Thank you Mark & Julie for arranging this meet and stewarding, you did a super job and we look forward to the next one - great paella & cake.

Hi all,
Enjoyed our time with you all, if only for 3 nights. Nice to meet new folk...thanks for coming down. Sorry the weather wasn't as good as it could have been, but hope you enjoyed the air show. Thank you Mark & Julie for organizing/stewarding and thanks to Mark, Pete & Julie for lovely paella & cake...it was yummy! The fish & chips were good too.
Hope to see some of you at the Christmas meet, work permitting. Take care

I would just like to say a big thank you for attending the meet in deepest darkest Dorset 
I know some of you travelled a fair distance but we had a great turnout.
Thank you pete for using your event shelter & this one doesn't leak   sorry missed Jim & lyn and Linda as had to get to work early to catch up!

Thanks for a great meet up at Bournemouth , we really enjoyed the event and new friends also. The social tent of Peters was also appreciated and made contact that much easier and the cooler evenings a little warmer.

Glad to hear that you all had a great weekend. So sorry that I didn't get a chance to meet you all and taste the amazing paella.
Managed to get a glimpse of the Red Arrows from the bus on Friday and saw a flypast of the biplanes with wing-walkers on my way back from Brighton on Sunday (they were also appearing at the Shoreham Airshow!).
Still, I've had plenty of opportunities to see them in the past and was even lucky enough to man the flight line when it was the "Hurn Airshow" (at what is now Bournemouth International Airport) when I was a young air cadet!
