1914-1918 ww1

Hi guys are we doing anything for the ww1 commemorations. Least we forget.

What dates you thinking of Hugh & any ideas where?

We'll it started 28 July 1914 so sometime round that date.but any time this year we need to do something

What a good idea, love to come along.

Iper in Belgium would be the place but need to act pretty soon to get a pitch on the campsite

This date will not be good for the club as there is a meet set up by Frank for sightseeing in Liverpool (see post) july 23rd-28th but that does not stop anyone wishing to organise something.

Don't mean that exact date do something this year. Any way I'll be doing something but it's an alternative to franks meet. But it's a personal thing to me as we'll it would be nice to do something

Totally agree something should be done to honour these brave heroes of yesteryear so why not have a themed meet, Marbury Park would be Ideal as we have the field to ourselves and theme it for the 1914/18 era, clothing, food, music ect. (it is in early august though)

so you can it not be at Liverpool meet a  theme night /day  1914/18 era, clothing, babq, music, on the 27 th and party in to the 28 th morning

Mike the reason I suggested Marbury Park meet was because after 20.00hrs we have the whole park to ourselves until 08.00hrs the following day therefore we would not be annoying or upsetting anyone, this would not be the case at a venue where others camping or there are local residences around us.

Southport would be great but we would have to ask Barbara if she will allow us to hold a large and possibly boisterous party going into the early hours.

total understand bob what you are saying where ever it is i think we are all a little bit old to take part in a rave most are in bed 10 pm but understand your thought i just was thinging right time right place so couldent we have a day time street style party like this  [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Think a street party would be better 100 yrs wen the war finished 1918-2018 not at the beginning.wat I am thinking maybe wen we go to ambosie pop in to arras or camrai .we had a national trust mag  and there marking the war with a country house which was a hospital during ww1.dunham Massey country house  in Cheshire is the house
