| We have been to the clinic today for a replacement dressing and they are very pleased with the healing process from the cut but they are very concerned about the bruising on her other leg as it is massive, they sent us to the doctors for an emergency appointment and we are told that it is a melanoma caused by a burst blood vessel under the skin and NOT a DVT related problem (phew) so Barb is healing well but still a little sore (a lot really but she is a brave lass). With luck we will make Marbury park for at least a couple of nights as getting in and out of Buffy will be tough on her. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Just arrived home from the clinic and it was not good news for my Barb, as soon as they removed the original stitches the wound opened up immediately and poured with blood.
So after a hour of talking to other medical staff present they managed to get the bleeding stopped and the stitches replaced and the rebandaged, now got to go back on Saturday for inspection and redressing, also they are still concerned with the Hematoma as although the bruising colour is subsiding the large lump is not, so off to the docs tomorrow (cannot get in today as its shut) So my poor sweetie is still in some great discomfort.

| Sorry to hear about Barbara's legs Bob.
I went through similar last year when I had my leg operated on. My leg tore following extraction of the stitches and the wound healed naturally with weekly visits to the doctors. Good news is it is ok now. Hope Barbara's legs heal quickly.

| Barb said thank Joyce for the positive spin on the wound opening again, the Docs seem to think it will be ok but she must not strain the leg in any way so i am afraid Marbury Park is a no no this year as we are at the clinic again Saturday | |

| Thanks Eileen & Allen, things are not to bad but it was such a bad cut so wide and deep with no flesh to stitch together so it is causing some concern. Yes we will get together soon we hope as we have gotta look over the new m/h | |

| Bob tell Barbara the wound heals from the bottom up. My wound was quite deep because I had a type of wart cut out of my leg. It seems to take forever but suddenly the new skin has formed and it's healed. Then you have to be careful if you go in the sun because it is new baby skin. | |

| Back from the clinic and all is now well with Barb's stitches and the wound is starting to heal, still a way to go yet but good so far, drove home in tremendous thunder storm, do hope you do not get it at Marbury park as it is torrential. | |

| Glad to hear the leg is healing - plenty of heavy rain at Marbury but some good sunshine and a super curry | |

| Well it didn't go well with thinking Barb would be getting a smaller dressing as she now has an even bigger one and it will be a long time healing so they say due to the lack of skin. May have to now cancel the anniversary trip planned for September | |

| That would be a real shame Bob if you have to cancel trip, I know you have been looking forward to it for ages, but you still have nearly a month for her to heal. Get better soon Barb! | |

| The main problem is there is no skin to cover the wound so we will have to wait until it scabs over then go from there, but she has to rest the leg as much as possible but also move a bit so she does not get a dvt, we will decide on the trip after doctors advice in a couple of weeks. | Positive thoughts Bob and Barbara - the wound looks better than it did a week ago. Have they given you any cream to put around the affected area but not on the wound. I was advised to use an antiseptic cream to keep the surrounding area supple. Looking at the pic the elastic bandage keeps rolling down if you fold it down about 4 inches should stop the rolling.

It's ok Barbara you have more than enough to think about. Hope your leg is healing. If we were nearer you could borrow my 'trolley' aka a mobility scooter to get out and about. Hope Bob is soon feeling a lot better. I know what its like to suffer with the ears. I'm ok now over the cold just wanting to be away in the motorhome. Just waiting for the wind to die down then I am off. You both take care
