The Passport Office

In our opinion DVLA HGV drivers licence department need to take example from our local passport office.

Colin applied for his first passport about 14th August this year. He had his interview 5th September and received his passport yesterday, 9th September. The whole process took less than a month.

Those who renewed their HGV drivers licence this year had to wait too many weeks (up to and over two months in many cases) to receive the renewed licence.  Well done the Passport Office for showing the way when you are busier than ever with a record amount of first passport applications.

Why did he have to have an interview

So they know he is from Yarkshire and not Dubrovnik

Bobs right they interview you to make sure they are giving the passport to the right person. Then they send it a couple of days later by courier

Are they doing that to everyone now Joyce?  It must triple their workload if they are.

Both Colin had interviews Cheryl and that's after running a business, for many years,and paying all the taxes associated with it

Blast!  Getting our passports renewed will be time consuming then.  Hey Ho, its the world we live in now I suppose.  Damn terrorists 

Don't know the procedure for renewals Cheryl as ours were first passports. The media reports there are still millions of passport applications waiting to be processed and many people have missed their holidays because of the delays in issuing passports. The disappointed applicants are supposed to be receiving compensation.
