Subject: I've been hit - looking for a thin drivers recording camera. Wed 15 Oct 2014 - 17:54
On the way home from the recent meet I was hit on the nearside rear corner of the motorhome. I know where it occurred but the vehicle doing the damage stayed behind the motorhome and I couldn't get his details. However he hit me on a strong point thank goodness. But next time................ Therefore looking for a slim drivers recorder camera to fit in the rear window. Preferably able to take a 64gb SD card. Any suggestions please?

Looked interesting rebbyvid until I saw the 90day warranty. Just makes you wonder. Thank you for replying.

I bought one of THESE not long ago, they have put the price up since but if you look round you can get them for about £18 Below is a sample from it, quality reduced for web use, ignore the jumpy start, I'd slowed the video down to show the junction and signage. Most will need a permanant feed to them as the camera batteries aren't much cop and only last an hour or so, a lot will only take 32gb max as well but they will carry on recording and overwrite the oldest file. If you want better quality video, look at the SJ4000, very similar to the Go Pro cameras but a fraction of the price

Here's a couple of still from a SJ5000, similar spec to the SJ4000 I mentioned earlier but the 5000 has Wi-Fi which you won't need, these are straight out of the camera, no image editing done at all

I have a road hawk at the front of motorhome so need a secondary camera at rear.
Will have a look for saidcamera. Need to power via cigarette lighter thingy. Hoping to fit camera at the top of the rear window and run a wire from back to front of motorhome so I can connect only when mobile. Do the cameras have night vision I wonder.

The 1st one I linked too has a few infra red led's on it, not sure they will do any good though at night, when put behind a window it will probably just reflect the light, plus when using it at night you will have bright headlights behind you so I don't think the camera will be much use in that situation, even a good camera would struggle picking out a registration number when there are 2 bright lights either side of the number plate
