Yes Joyce close Ken should have some good shots
Right sorry not posted but Internet
The last photos were Rosemarkie from there I went to Brora but nothing for me there. Was like a compound looking onto the sea. Big wire fence and sign camping and Caravan club so went in to investigate as there was a camper ther. He bought the land and buildings a couple of years ago and opened it up last year . Wanted£11 no elec or £13 with elec. I said just wanted somewhere for the night. so moved onto Helmsdale harbour lovely spot and by bedtime 9 vans What happened there I have been on my own more or less. Had the famous fish and chips only managed the fish and that was just Enormous Photos will follow. From there I went round some hairpin bends and up and down some hills and landed at Dunbeath Went to the harbour and got some strange looks so went to Inver campsite for the night. Won't go again Toilets and showers were ideal.toilet, shower and wash basin all in one room with under floor heating and brilliant showers. But Anyway moved onto Wick and checked out the harbour, but I carried on later to look at Castle Sinclear. Parked up . Castle in ruins but lovely. Thought I would stay here the night . Billy no mates agin except for a stone waggon(some works going on round there) The cold wind as been with me all the way up. This morning was cold and the wind was turning. I decided to go back into Wick and look at the campsite, and this is where I am. Elec on.heating, tv on Nice and cosy
Yes there is room for wild camping and site camping
Photos to follow I'm nearly at the top
Oh and Sharron and Paul who have gone up the west coast have had glorious sunshine and no wind on there journey
And Adele and Ken are catching me up

| West side of Scotland and England is where the good weather is Polly. The east side is affected with cold winds and low cloud although we have sunshine and clear blue sky right now but return to cloudy conditions tonight.
You are beyond the spot now but we once stayed in a layby, a while ago, just before the hill and sharp corner at Berriedale - wild camping.
The campsite owner at John o Groats was a sight to behold in his tartan trousers and mop of unruly ginger hair. But again that was a while ago. If you park there keep away from the sea front. If you go for a walk east on the beach there are masses of shells. John o Groats museum was free at the time and worth a look round.
Glamis Castle is worth a visit. The Queens Mother restored it during her life time. Can spy the Old Man of Hoy from one of the castle windows.

| Hia I was warned about Berriedale but thought oh I'll keep to the main road. Didn't reliaze that was the main road. Gutted as my dash cam didn't record it. I stopped on the layby opposite side of the war graves Must check the dash cam out Yes calling at the castle and if need be will call on the way back | |

| Looks a bit daunting Berriedale hill and corner but keep vehicle in low gear and you will be fine.
Glamis castle used to be closed on Mondays. We had to extend our stay to visit. Not that it was a problem with all that lovely scenery.
Forgot to say if you travel east following the coast on the cliff top towards the lighthouse and the beyond you may find sea lions down on the beach. Don't advise going to stroke them though lol

Washing nearly all done Motorhome day tomorrow so that will be sorted ready for my next outing. Went out for our Claire's birthday tea on Tuesday when I got home. Ethan and Tilly didn't know I was home. Ohhhh our Tilly shouting GRANNYS back and I got loads of loves and cuddles and your back . Ethan being cool gave me a hug. Saw our George at the Nationall at weekend but all didn't go well . He was running in the top 10 and gearbox went. He now as his 2 bikes with gearbox problems. Hopefully his race bike is still under warrenty Whatever he looks as though he his saying goodbye to the Nationals this year
