Hi everyone,
Good to have found this forum, thanks to spotting the associated Facebook group.
We have a 30 Mercedes Coachbuilt 7.5 tonne camper, called Vanessa. She was originally an incident unit for Shell in Aberdeen, but we found her in Brighton. She was damp to the point of rotten (mushrooms in the bathroom, huge hole in the worktop, side window falling out .....) but my partner Greg is always up for a challenge and somehow managed to fix her.
We got to spend seven months touring around Scotland (having journeyed up the East Coast of England, along Hadrian’s wall and round the Cumbrian Coast too). Lockdown brought our travels to a halt, but we realised we loved Scotland so much we wanted to live up here, and bought an old fishing cottage in Aberdeenshire, in an auction - unseen
We’ve been unable to travel since, as my elderly mother is now living with us, so we’ve created an affordable stopover aire at our cottage as there was a large hardstanding front yard that was being unused, and it looks out across the Moray Firth, so we thought a stopover was a good use to provide safe parking.
If you’re travelling in the Fraserburgh area, perhaps on the NE250, look us up Glenbuchty Stopover Motorhome Aire (you’ll find us on Facebook or Google)
It’s lovely to meet fellow motorhomers and hear about your travels. Hope to meet some of you soon
