We went to the one in Bridlington and had the most appalling meal I've ever had - even they admitted it was disgusting - we sent loads of meals back -we were given free drinks and puddings but that does not make up for lousy food!

Not fond of Wetherspoons. I know the food is all pre-prepared and portion controlled but they can still ruin it. We always look for Smith & Jones pubs, better choice and better value in my opinion or better still Sizzling Pubs [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

If we have a bad meal we won't go back as there are so many food places to choose from, but for £11/head and it wasn't that bad you can't fail in my opinion.

We always used to use Wetherspoons but over the last few years they do seem to have been let go, so we don't use them much now.
On a Tuesday in Chelmsford you can get a 8oz rump or sirloin plus a pint or a glass of wine etc for £4.99
