Just sent an email too Murielle to see if we can get our "permis de peche" from the local Mairie, it will save us messing about in Amboise if we can.

Just been sifting through my fishing tackle & found floats hooks new 5lb line I think I'll go down the tackle shop at the weekend to see what else I can get.

All I need now is some ground bait as Stewart brought me a pile of great gear for river fishing including a river rod and a great new reel for r/h also said the french are very keen on having an unhooking mat for when you land the fish and unhooking it before releasing it, I have ordered one from fleabay.

Nous avons un étang près du camping. Vous pouvez pêcher à la journée et il n'y a pas de carte à acheter. Une personne qui s'occupe de l'étang passera pour vous faire payer le droit de pêche.

Translation- There is a pond on the camping for which there is no charge, You can fish at the day and there is no charge to buy. A person who deals with the pond will pass to make you pay the fishing rights.I assume this is for a "Permis de Peche"

You're quite right Mike already got my boilies and feeders, but will use some with groundbait and oil as well, feeding the swim from upriver.

I will sit next to you Bob and catch all the fish that you attract    cos I aint a clue what a boilies is, all I have is a rod, reel , line ,float and hook , plain and simple thats me , well simple anyway 

Well one out of six is not bad Baza

Mark its not necessary for a yearly licence, I will put on the post tomorrow the daily/weekly/year rates (to late now to go look for it) but it ain't a problem and after all we are going there too enjoy our trip not get tied down with bureaucracy.

Looking forward to the trip and cannot wait to get away, are you ready Baza & Rina and Jan & Barrie, I know Mark n Julie are ready for the off.

Been doing a spring clean on the van this weekend , it is going to Camper UK on Wednesday for service and MOT , then we can stock it up for France    cant wait

With your €1,21.25 to the pound its only a few coppers over the £1 ltr which is a lot better than the UK  

Oh yes it's far better than here Bob, but not as good as the last 2 years, but then again we didnt get €1.21 then so it balances out.

No too far south for us this time, we are staying along the loire & maybe Brittany as well.

Bad news already Bob has broken down on A1 ,how much more bad luck can he have

 Oh no is it serious Baza or has he fixed it

I've just spoken to Baza, Bob is about 30 miles from the pub they are staying at, Baza is there havin a bevvy for him.
Apparently it broke down while low on fuel, the RAC go it going & then conked out again.
That's as much as I know for now.

I have news.  Bob and Barb has made it to their campsite at Steeple Morden and they had a meal with Baz and Rina in the pub.  Bob is going to get mh looked at tomorrow by someone he has already spoken to.  

All is not lost  

Further update on Bob's progress:  We are just back from Steeple Morden and the van was taken to a local garage for a replacement fuel filter first thing this morning, unfortunately this was not causing the problem.  They are now looking for a Mercedes Truck garage to get towed to so that Buffy can be fixed.  When she is, they will be heading over to France.

Thanks Mike but we are sorted breakdown truck on Monday new fuel pump required @ £1000 already spent £400, Baza n Rina staying with us, train cancelled until fixed but trip still on so see you ASAP

Bob does the engine still run?
If it does could be diesel slugs in the fuel tank or pump grindings.  A new pump may not fix the problem. We had similar experience with one of the vans.
You should have joined us at Bridlington - she says with tongue in cheek. 

Joyce think the pump grindings is the problem had Merc diagnostic out £160 + £80 p.h for 3 hrs changed fuel filter and pressure valve on injector rail and now require new pump as 70 bar under pressure when starting up so no fuel pickup.

Colin says have they pressurised the tank - carefully.  He also asks if they have looked at the inline filter on chassis if fitted.
The van gave the same symptoms and was dirt in tank. We were asked £600 for new pump to fit ourselves so dirt in tank was a cheaper repair for us. That was last year and van goes well with no more problems.
Hope whatever it is doesn't delay your journey too long as you have had enough stress waiting for your licence.
