FICC Rally Slawa Poland 6th - 14th August 2013

Hi,

Is anyone going or thinking of going as we are seriously thinking of going ourselves, you can book via the C&CC here's a link C&CC regarding the FICC rally.

Update:- It appears you need to book or certainly pay via your own club, and while I know the C&CC are taking bookings I would suspect that most of the other main clubs will do the same

i think bobski was thinking of going until the spain trip come up,but he has been before i think.

Your correct Frank, we where thinking of going but as you said Spain came up and we decided to change our plans.

We have been to 3 FICC rallies so far and they are really good, well organised with plenty to do and see and of course you have people from not only Europe but far off distant countries so the camaraderie is fantastic.

Hi, We may try to work it in with our planned trip to Hamburg later in the year, albeit I'm not sure what the holiday situation is in Germany in August.

Not sure what you mean by the "holiday situation" in Germany in August, if it is are the sites all full well yes I would imagine but there are hundreds of stelplatz sites all over Germany and you will have no problem touring around and finding stopovers so I would not see a problem with incorporating the FICC rally into planned itinerary and you will love the rally.

Thanks for that, we have been to Germany several times over the last 5/6 years, but my main concern at that time of year is really the thousands of kids, not that I have anything against kids, it just that we normally hibernate from touring during the school holiday period LoL

We may well book as we want to see Poland and this seems like a good reason to go, do they normally have an area set aside for the clubs ?

Yes all the clubs have dedicated areas and run by a club steward and a host country steward in charge of your area.

Thanks , I checked the C&CC web site, while they are selling the tickets etc. they don't appear to be arranging anything, I know they will book the ferries if you want etc. but they will do that anytime. It just doesn't appear to be an organised rally "to and from" Slawa, unless I'm missing something.

We have always gone with the C&CC and what happens is when you have booked and payed you will get information of the arrival date on site, you make your own way there and go too your dedicated area, all the information you will have already and you will be met by a host nation Steward to help you out.

The C&CC usually arrange follow on rallies which I think (not sure as never done one) you can book before going or when on site.

You can go on organised trips which are pre booked but can be expensive or you can do them on your own or in a small group with local transport.
The finale is a huge parade with all the countries in National costume cumulating in a huge Marquee where you could have 5000 seated campers, there will be food and of course copious amounts of host nation beer (Polish beer is lovely).

Hi, Not sure how late you can leave it to book ? any ideas

If you leave it until after the 10May you incur a 20% surcharge but unsure of final date for booking.

I know its only a guess, but do you think that if I leave it until nearer the 10th May I could find that they will have sold out ?

No Brian, the event is huge so there is always room and as long as you have an CCI card I think you can just turn up, but a call to the C&CC would confirm it.

I will wait a while before booking as it would be nice to travel with a few others especially into Poland as we have never been before ? we went to Berlin Last year but headed down from there, this time we will try up around Hamburg etc and try and combine it with the FICC

Anyone interested ?

Hi, No problem, we will probably give it a miss as well, as we aren't that keen on touring while the kids are on holiday, we also have a ferry already booked for the 3rd Sept which seems a better date to tour
