| It is better than my TomTom 1005 and my Garmin 465T Outstanding performance for a fraction of their greedy prices | |

| Yes there are lots of prices but £62.99 was the best package for what you get with lifetime maps and truck maps etc | |

| I send my card to a buddy and he posts it back with updates and extra POI's for me ;-)
All your operation is confined to that 4gb memory The route path of mine can be changed to the 8gb card

| Hi Andy, just purchased one of the sat navs you posted about and then I thought will it be compatible to my mac pc. You mentioned that you send your card to a buddy for updates and poi's, why ? with your skills can you not do them (or for that matter me do them) yourself or is there something I have not realised Need a backup Satnav as my old TT 950GO is now starting to be temperamental and microsoft Sue (my female voice) is acting up now and again. must be a female thing Another thing I never saw in the blurb was does it have seamless mapping from country to country as I get with TT. | |

| Poi's dont take up much storage space anyway 10's or 100's of mb only meaning you dont need a large gb capacity of spare storage. | |

| For the price of two envelopes and stamps john updates everything for me including maps. Seems silly for me to faff about with a service like that. I hate reading instructions these days as I don't speak that many languages | |

| Is John a friendly chap, and would he be willing to give me the service if he was asked as I seem to be afflicted with the same symptoms as you.
Does it have seamless mapping between countries as the blurb does not state that.

| Hi Andy, I have been in touch with John and he is willing to assist with the updates and poi's when I get the item, but he did say if I send a data card before then he will put all the updated info on it including poi's so as I have seen you use a 8gb which one is it, I usually use Kingston SD cards so whats the difference in that and an FT card or are they the same, I was going to order an 8gb SDHC from Kingston. | |

| Tf Card has similar functions to a MicroSD card which is a small memory card format that is inserted into an SD card slot. MicroSD devices have the ability to hold up NFC (Near Field Communication). [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Hope this helps Bob. | |

| No but it does say free updates once a year, so I guess it's the same thing... I'm sure they're the same unit inside give or take although I haven't used mine yet, but going on what your feedback is "it's never let you down yet" so I have high hopes | |

I've had this since December. Not made a mistake yet [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Its arrived today Andy and you are correct in saying it is excellent value, I recharged the unit fully before opening and it does seem to be very good with all the different things to do with it, I basically only want it for navigation, poi.s, and phone connection not interested in Pictures and Music as we have other units for this. I have sent the sd/mmc/tf off to John as soon as I started setting a route it informed me "maps out of date" so don't know why they say in the blurb "newest maps installed" Have you had the Australian map removed to free space up on sim card? do not think I will be going there anytime in the future Hope your having a good weekend in Wharfedale and the weather is good, it's lovely here but a wee windy (think that might be coming from Pete)

Well impressed with the unit John, have run it side by side with my TT and it was very good at following the same route as the trusted TT apart from sometimes it wanted me to turn the opposite way TT right 7" left or visa versa but I put that down to the settings in my TT being slightly different. One major drawback is the is no system that like TT gives you :danger zones: as TT does for the speed camera warnings (its illegal in France for speed warnings) so you can either disable them or switch off the unit if your stopped by the local Gendarme (not that I tend to speed but I don't like to have to pay an unexpected fine)

| Downloaded the Lidl poi's and put them on the sd card (internal memory) as they were (unzipped) and as you said on the other thread the sat nav software unzipped them and put them in the system - so that works well, if you can find poi's in the correct format. | |
