M.o.t for larger Motorhomes

Just spent 2 hours trying to find another suitable testing station in my area as the Bournemouth bus station where I have been going to for years no longer do motorhomes of my size & weight   .
probably a lot of you will be unaware of the vosa changes implemented last year!.So beware when you next mot.
It might be worth ringing vosa if you have any doubts.   

Mark look for a garage that carries out Class 7 MOTs.  

Although your motorhome is a car MOT test a class 7 MOT station can accomodate your motorhome size  - but make sure they charge you for a car MOT test which is a class 4.

Yes Joice I understand all that but the changes which have arisen last year I wasn't aware of & I'm just forwarding this on to others    

What were the changes and when did it change

You'd need to speak to vosa about the changes, but the other problem I was having was trying to find test stations who would mot "heavy class 4" at the class 4 price rather than class 7.
Turns out there are only 2 test stations in Bournemouth & Poole.

Mark the test stations that are trying to charge class 7 prices for motorhome tests [which are car tests] need reporting to VOSA.

The MOT base inspectors will put the testing stations right.  Another rip off if they can get away with it.
