Help needed

Does anyone recognise these uniforms, the pictures were taken probably late forties in Egypt. The chap sat down is my father. I don't even know what service they are in, any help greatly appreciated.

Debbie, put a picture of your dad on the site Mike has suggested as I feel sure someone will recognize that badge your dad has on the uniform, he's a great looking fellow and real smart, do hope someone out there can help.

i would suggest that the guy standing up was a steward, given the  "S" inside the star on his left arm and the high collar on his tunic. as to which service?......the guy stood up could have been in the royal navy.  as to your father, very hard to make out the emblem on his buttons plus the black/dark tie could have been royal air force.
not much help i must admit so may be better advised by trying  the royal naval assocation,plus those of the royal air force and even the royal marines.

I think the chap standing up was one of my fathers brothers, and his uniform is petty officer in the Fleet Air Arm, of which all three of them were members. The photo was taken in Heliopolis in Egypt, and I think it was just after WW2. I'm still looking, but information is thin on the ground.
