Thanks to Ken I am trying Ubuntu which is a windoze alternative and so far very impressed, I am surprised how much easier it has got since I looked at Linux about 5yrs ago.

so far i can do all i want that i normally do on WD and so far it is easier

so far 8/10

Have a go as you can test it without loading it.

cheers

What you doing about Itunes?
It won't run in Ubuntu, you have a few of options though
Dual boot - but I believe your having windoze problems
Wine - OK for some applications but hit n miss
Virtualbox - Create a virtualbox and run windoze within Ubuntu, I think this is your best option, it's what I used before I switched completely

Put Ubuntu on the laptop for the Motorhome Ken. I have another at home with windows 7 also iPad and iPhone so covered in all bases.

I have dual booted Ubuntu with Xp Home edition, as I intend to fix windoze eventually as I watch football on the streams, this worked on Ubuntu with Firefox and Chrome but it was slow. There're are not any advise I can find as of yet

More self teaching Lol

Whilst we are talking about Linux/Ubuntu
Everyone should have a bootable Linux disc at hand, not only is it a good, safe operating system to use, you can use it to access and fix Windoze when you have problems, for example if you have a trashed Windoze operating system and it won't boot and needs a re-install, boot your PC to the Linux disc, it will be able to read the hard drive, copy and save all your work, files, emails, bookmarks etc before you do a fresh install of Windoze and lose everything

I noticed that you can see all the windows files and wish I had had it for the ties windoze had crashed over the years.

Good advise for all Windozers that Ken
