A disappointing result for intended route to Spain

First topic message reminder :

Hi, Baza, Pete and Mark, after researching my proposed route over the Col de Portalet I have had some information from seasoned expert travellers about the route and the time of year we would be going.

The Col is ussually closed from October to May so early April looks like it could be still impassable, I was intending getting the information for the route from a campsite we have frequently used at Saint Yrieix-sur-Charente as from there I could change the route easily to avoid the area, and suggest the route through the Somport tunnel, it's a very pretty route we have used before and actually brings us out on the route we would have originally taken.

So here is what I suggest, still stick with the original route until Saint Yrieix then make enquiries about the road condition and if its closed I will have a backup route ready, or how about you putting forward a route you would like to take and we could go that way, I do want to avoid toll roads as much as possible and I will not be using the Millau bridge, don't mind going down under it but refuse to pay €35 to go across.

Sure is Baza, and I have to stock up Franks wine cellar as well as he does not like Spanish Vino Callapso, so collecting 4x10lts of French vin rouge, that should last us a day or two.

Decided I don't want to get away and find the wine is not drinkable so I am having to try it out tonight ,

You said the route was via a tunnel ,you didn't say anything about us digging one

No trace of that cold frosty snowy wet weather in Benidorm. For the last week it's been sunny, warm, dry, temps 20 to 23 deg. Cooler at night, and a little cool 1st thing, 12 deg at 9am (your 10 am).
Hope it stays like this for when we meet up with you lot, April 8th.
Got to go, the sun lounger is getting too hot, it needs me to catch the rays.

Arrgghh 12 deg @ 09.00hrs you poor thing having it that cold in skeggiedorm, another couple of weeks will make all the difference to those temps, and boy oh boy are we looking forward to it, all day

can not beleave the change in 21 days when we drove back through central france it was -3 to -6 snow ice wind all the way

We are going the same time give or take a day or so as last year, if the weather is similar then the journey down there was a bit hit and miss but as soon as we hit spain the turned itself on.

No bother Baza, I am borrowing one of Barbs old knitted woollen swimming costumes, its a little on the big size at the front but it should mould to my shape in the sauna Thanks anyway m8.

Got most of it done Bob now we both have got results of our tests , i will sort out med insurance tomorrow

Weather today in Accous one of the places we could overnight before entering Spain, good restaurant or on campsite 100mts away.
